SPACE21 Festival is dedicated to exploring, celebrating, and expanding the sonic landscape of Kurdistan through experimental music, sound art, and immersive listening experiences. Our mission is to create a vibrant platform where artists, audiences, and communities come together to engage with sound in innovative and meaningful ways. We transform both historic and contemporary spaces across the city into creative hubs, activating the rich architectural and cultural heritage of Kurdistan with new sonic possibilities. By highlighting the importance of sound archives, fostering youth participation, and encouraging cross-disciplinary collaboration, SPACE21 is committed to preserving Kurdish sonic heritage while inspiring new forms of artistic expression. Through our programs—ranging from site-specific performances and listening walks to workshops and interactive exhibitions—we aim to build bridges across generations, cultures, and disciplines. SPACE21 Festival ensures that the sounds and stories of Kurdistan continue to resonate, connecting the past with the present and shaping the sonic future for generations to come.

In the beginning of April, 2026 Vision Forum was to participate in the festival. Due to the geopolitical situation, SPACE21 re-scheduled. The festival will now happen in two parts:

  • Part 1: 22–23 October: (live performance, youth workshop and public exhibition)
  • Part 2: 30 October – 3 November: (live performance, sound archive, listening session, conference and public exhibition)

As long as travel is possible, Vision Forum will participate in the festival.
