Our Need for Consolation Gallery

The project Our Need for Consolation took its starting point from Swedish author Stig Dagerman’s text with same name. Through its reflection on how to fill human existence with meaning, it uses a language that is specifically Nordic and opens for discussions about difficult metaphysical questions. These reflections gave a group of diverse young artists, musicians and dancers/choreographers ammunition to develop new performances. The text’s questions about literature’s role in society also opened for discussions about artistic production and the autonomy of artistic activities.
