A More Japanese North

Vision Forum, Tomorrow’s Art Audience and Regionala Danscentret i Österbotten a are jointly organising a dance workshop April 14-21, 2025 in Vaasa.

 The workdhop’s process focuses on the relationship between life and death. The group will take its inspiration from Butoh (which is Japanese for “Dance of Darkness”) and its view of different life processes. Swedish and Finnish choreographers, dancers, musicians and visual artists will work together to together explore new ideas and expressions in primarily in dance. Special focus will be given to the smallest expressions of life: microbes and microorganisms and what they can teach us about life and death.

The workshop is free and parts are open to anyone interested in dance. To participate, write us a line at info [at] visionforum.eu.

A public presentation will be held at Funkkis (Institutgatan 1) 17.00h, April 20. Entrance is free.
